Commands

Use Cmd+K or Ctrl+K on the website to run allowlisted PortPilot commands — not a shell.

What this is

The website command palette (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K) runs a fixed catalogue of PortPilot commands: navigation, search filters, inspect, diagnose, controls, tunnels, and history.

It is not a terminal. You cannot execute arbitrary shell. Desktop does not include Cmd+K — use the website or the CLI.

Prerequisites

Signed in on https://portpilot.app with at least one paired machine for port-targeted commands.

How to use it

  1. Press Cmd+K (macOS browsers) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux browsers).
  2. Type a command name, a port number, or a filter (status:unhealthy).
  3. Pick a category row: Navigation, Search, Inspect, Diagnose, Control, Expose, History.
  4. If the command needs a target, choose port / service / tunnel / machine when prompted.
  5. Validation rejects incomplete targets.
  6. Destructive actions ask for confirmation unless you set automation to Developer.
  7. Execution talks to the cloud → agent. You get a success message or an error with a next step.

Flow: Command → Parameters → Validation → Confirmation (when required) → Execute → Result.

Categories (examples)

  • Navigation: Go to Dashboard, Go to Ports, Go to Machines, Settings, Billing
  • Search: stalled, blocked, unhealthy, Docker, proxy, nginx, environment filters
  • Inspect: port / tunnel
  • Diagnose: Diagnose port
  • Control: Kill port, service start/stop/restart, firewall allow/block/remove
  • Expose: Expose port, Stop tunnel, Restart tunnel
  • History: recent or per-port

A bare number searches port:N — it never kills by itself.

Expected result

The UI navigates, filters, or shows an action result. Failures include a short reason (offline machine, missing entitlement, helper down).
