Cloud

The agent stays local. Cloud adds the account plane.

PortPilot Cloud is the website account plus optional paid services: history sync, notifications, and metadata backups. Local discovery does not depend on it.

PortPilot locally

  • Agent, helper, CLI, desktop on the host
  • SQLite history
  • Diagnose, kill, services
  • Works when the API is unreachable (after cache rules)

PortPilot + Cloud

  • Pairing codes and machine list
  • Fleet dashboard and command palette
  • Remote core controls on entitled machines
  • Paid Cloud: sync, notifications, backups

Multi-machine and remote visibility

Pairing is available on Free for one machine, including remote kill/service on that host. Pro expands machine capacity. The dashboard shows live state when the agent is connected and STALE snapshots when it is not. Controls are not queued offline.

Sync

Cloud Sync stores selected history in PortPilot Cloud so the website can show fleet history when a machine is offline. This is a Cloud entitlement — not included in lifetime Pro.

Notifications

In-app centre plus email for events such as offline or unhealthy hosts. Preferences live under Settings → Notifications.

Backups

Account metadata only: prefs, machine display names, notification prefs, bounded history summaries. Restore does not include credentials or a disk image of your servers. The last five backups are retained.

Account-based management

Licences attach to the account. After pairing, the agent receives entitlements and caches them for 24 hours offline. Settings cover account, billing, redeem, and support tickets.
