Terms of Service

These terms describe the PortPilot software licence, lifetime Pro, Cloud subscriptions, and AppSumo grants as implemented. Last updated 19 September 2026.

These terms are offered by ULTRANE DEVELOPMENT LTD (Companies House 15681442), trading as PortPilot. By creating an account, installing the software, or redeeming a code you agree to these terms. Contact [email protected]. This page is a product-accurate draft, not counsel-signed legal advice. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that applicable consumer law does not allow to be excluded — a solicitor should confirm the final wording before paid traffic.

Account usage

You must provide a valid email and keep credentials confidential. Sessions last 7 days. You are responsible for machines paired to your account and for actions taken with your entitlements.

Software licence

PortPilot agent, helper, CLI, and desktop are licensed, not sold. You may install them on machines you are authorised to administer, up to your entitled machine count. You may not reverse engineer except where mandatory law allows, sublicense the binaries, or use the product to attack systems you do not own or operate.

Lifetime licences

A lifetime Pro licence is a one-time payment for the evolving Pro feature set and software updates on the entitled machine count.

Lifetime Pro does not include PortPilot Cloud (sync, notifications, or account backups). Cloud stays a separate subscription.

Machine capacity is the purchased tier (1, 3, 5, or 10). Seats do not stack — active licences use the maximum, not the sum.

Lifetime covers updates to the Pro feature set. New paid products (including Cloud) remain separate.

Licences cannot be transferred between people or accounts.

Subscriptions (Cloud)

Cloud is billed monthly or yearly via Stripe. Cancel-at-period-end keeps access until the paid period ends. Active lifetime Pro reduces Cloud by £5/month (£60/year). Cloud seats are max(Pro seats, 3). Cloud includes the Pro feature set while active, plus sync, notifications, and account metadata backups.

Machine activations

Pairing consumes a seat. Revoke or unpair frees it immediately. The server enforces limits. Offline, the agent may cache entitlements for 24 hours, then Free local core only if Cloud is unreachable.

Acceptable use

No scanning or controlling machines without authorisation, no abuse of the API, pairing, or support channels, and no attempting to bypass entitlements. The helper only runs allowlisted actions; you still must have OS permission on the host.

Updates and availability

We may ship updates that you install manually (no auto-update in the current product). Cloud availability is provided as-is; local discovery does not require Cloud.

Support

Support is via the public form, email, and in-app tickets. We do not promise SLAs in these terms.

Refunds

A full refund or a lost payment dispute revokes the licence immediately and commercially blacklists the account. A partial refund keeps the licence.

Stripe disputes you lose are treated as a full clawback of that purchase. Partial refunds keep the licence.

AppSumo

AppSumo purchases are also governed by AppSumo’s terms. Codes are single-use, map to the same entitlement layer as site Pro/Cloud, and do not stack by summing seats — the maximum applies. AppSumo Cloud is a 365-day grant with optional discounted one-time renew for up to two extra years, then the normal Pro Cloud rate. Deal prices are not website list prices. An AppSumo refund revokes the linked licence.

Termination

We may suspend or blacklist accounts for fraud, abuse, chargebacks, or terms violations. Blacklist blocks checkout, redeem, pairing, and sign-in. You may stop using the software and delete local data by uninstalling (purge to remove data directories).

Intellectual property

PortPilot names, marks, and software remain our IP (and licensors’). You retain IP in your own machine data.

Liability

The software and Cloud are provided without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded. We are not liable for lost profits, data loss on your hosts, or indirect damages, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud where the law forbids it.
